Anything said in the public chat channel that includes "wts" or "wtb"...

Anything said in the public chat channel that includes "wts" or "wtb" should be automatically sent to the trade channel.

Yes, on some very rare occasions you might want to say wtb or wts in the public channel for a reason other than selling. But not often, and that miniscule amount of inconvenience would be worth it. This modification would take almost no overhead and could easily be done entirely on the client side. And it’d keep the public chat channel clear of those amazing offers for purple 13-20 swords for only 10k.

id rather have a custom chat filter were you can choose to have it replace words with words of your choices.

example if you specified WTS to read Selling: it would replace every instance of WTS with Selling: or any other word you could choose what you see

i agree, trying to sell at Lions arch is a dumb idea since everyone spams "wts" in every channal... i agree with getting rid of the whole "wts" in normal chat, people really need to learn how to use the trade channal.. seriously...

theres no way to stop them from trying to sell in any channel if they made a filter for WTS/WTB/WTT then they would ahve to include Buying Selling Trading then if i wanted to trade i would jsut say the item and then a price

example: Max dmg Fellblade 15%>50 c/o 50k pm offer

there is no way to stop them so you might as well just have a custom chat filter to were its not such an eyesore maybe even A.net could make WTS/WTB/WTT in the all channel read I am a nub and want to sell/I suck so i need/Im stupid so ill trade that could be fun.

my 90 day ban was a joke, but hints at the disgust I have for WTS in All chat...a key to stopping this is to not buy from anyone that uses All to sell, even if they are using Trade

I even Whisper to people saying that they would get better response in Trade chat. Sometimes I get flamed, but whatever. I try.

Sometimes, I sit in town when I have nothing better to do. When people try to sell things in the common channel, I politely ask them to use the trade channel. Most of the time, I get responses from people with the intelligence of a small dog. "I can sell wherever I want!" (Although without all the correct spelling and such) or just "You're a <insert stupid insult>!!!!!!".

Lol, even better any post that doesnt contains WTS or WTB be redirected to the trade. x_x I get so tired of people trying to talk on there or get noticed by using it to shout random things. But yes, I agree that all trade should be done in the trade channel (and nothing else) ... but thats like saying I want the game to be free of noobs , its never going to happen.

Or we could set up an item linking system and only allow people to link items in trade. It doesn't help 100% but it makes a dramatic difference.

Except that NOBODY uses the trade channel, and when people who "forgot to switch to the trade channel" are asked to use the trade channel they respond with, "STUF NOOB!"

I suggested just blocking any attempt to say WTS, WTB, Selling, Buying, or any other version thereof in All chat. There are already filters in the game, it wouldn't be hard.

The 90-day ban is a great idea though.
